This guide addresses identifying Pulse-Eight IR Hardware and the compatibility of each type.

Identification and Types

Types

All supported IR emitters and receivers have been allocated types for ease of discussion and documentation. They are as follows:

The following IR cables are supported with Pulse-Eight products:

P8-IRPACK-TYPE-D

• Packed in a white and clear bag, with a Pulse-Eight label
• Small rectangular emitter with black stereo plug and silver “IR TX” label
• Large dark red receiver with black stereo plug and white “IR RX” label
• Supplied with adhesive on Tx and foam tape for Rx
• If extending the Tx cable, the original plug must be used. Failure to do so will result in premature failure of the emitter and possible damage to the unit it is connected to.

P8-IRPACK-TYPE-M

• No longer manufactured
• Packed in a clear bag with no label
• Custom rubber moulded emitter with grey stereo plug
• IR emitted from flat side of emitter (facing down in photo)
• Small black-appearance receiver with black stereo plug
• Supplied with foam tape on Tx and Rx

P8-IRPACK-TYPE-T

• Packed in two clear bags with no label
• Also available as Tx and Rx seperately
• Small rectangular emitter with black mono plug and white “IR OUT” label
• Large dark red receiver with black stereo plug and no label
• Supplied with adhesive on Tx and foam tape for Rx

P8-IRPACK-TYPE-L

• No longer manufactured
• Packed in a clear bag with no label
• Custom rubber moulded emitter with black stereo plug
• Large domed black-appearance reciever with black stereo plug
• Supplied with foam tape on Tx and Rx

P8-IR-OPTO-CABLE-0.25M

P8-IR-OPTO-CABLE-0.5M

• Packed in a clear bag with no label
• White mono input connector
• Black stereo output connector
• Overmoulding bears arrow and Pulse-Eight logo
• Type T input suitable for many control systems as well as P8 products
• Type D and Type L compatible output

P8-IR-OPTO-CABLE-1.0M

• Packed in a clear bag with no label
• White mono input connector
• Black stereo output connector
• Overmoulding bears arrow without logo
• Type T input suitable for many control systems as well as P8 products
• Type M compatible output
• This cable does not work with Type D IR systems. Use one of the shorter versions instead.

P8-IR-OPTO-CABLE-SS-1.0M

• Packed in a clear bag with no label
• Grey stereo input connector
• Black stereo output connector
• Overmoulding bears arrow with logo
• Type D, M, or L input
• Type D, M or L output corresponding to input

Note 1: IR Emitters may be compatible, but this is not a supported configuration
