Which Adapter Do I Need?
| NUC Generation | Adapter Required |
|---|---|
| 4th Gen NUC | Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter (with 4th Gen cable harness) |
| 5th Gen NUC | Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter (with 5th Gen cable harness) |
| 6th / 7th / 8th Gen NUC | Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter (with 6th/7th/8th Gen cable harness) |
| Skull Canyon NUC (NUC6i7KYK) | Skull Canyon / Hades Canyon CEC Adapter |
| Hades Canyon NUC (NUC8i7HVK / NUC8i7HNK) | Skull Canyon / Hades Canyon CEC Adapter |
| 9th Gen and newer | No internal adapter available — use the USB-CEC Adapter instead |
If you are unsure which generation your NUC is, check the model number on the underside of the unit. The generation is indicated by the number after "NUC" in the model string — for example, NUC8i5BEH is 8th generation.
Software
All NUC CEC adapters use libcec, the same as the USB-CEC Adapter. The latest version, libcec 7.1.1, is compatible with all NUC CEC adapter models.
Installation instructions: How to install libcec (Windows)
Known Issue: LG WebOS 4.0 and HDMI 2
On LG TVs running WebOS 4.0 with software version 05.10.25 (November 2019), CEC does not work on HDMI 2 (the ARC-labelled port). Connect your NUC to HDMI 1 instead to use CEC control.
