HDMI 2.1 supports dynamic HDR, allowing connected displays to change HDR metadata scene by scene, or even frame by frame. It also supports an enhanced audio return channel (eARC) for better support for Dolby Atmos and DTS audio standards: X; support of variable refresh rate, which eliminates stuttering and torn frames in the game; fast media switching so that there is less delay in switching between video sources and fast frame transport, for better use of HDMI 2.1 connector bandwidth.
