Yes!
The NeoX/X+ downmixes automatically. The matrix can downmix incoming audio multichannel audio (up to 5.1) to stereo (2ch). This is the same for Source, Sink and ARC Modes.
Please be aware this is only for Dolby 5.1 and this does not work for DTS or other formats.
