ProAudio: Locking the volume control (Control4)

Modified on Tue, 15 Jun, 2021 at 12:17 PM

  • "How do I lock the volume control?"

  • "I'm using an AVR as an amplifier, how do I turn off the volume control on the switch?"
  • "How do I pass audio straight through the switch with changing the volume?"

"Select Audio Output" of the zone you're interested in setting up, then set the volume to 84%. 84% is the pass through level, if the Min and Max default volume settings have not been changed. It indicate the level going out is the same as the level coming in.

Once this is done you should go to Composer's Action tab and press the Backup Volume Settings button, otherwise you will lose the volume settings if there's a power failure.

To keep the volume from changing, make the user does NOT use the audio switch as the volume endpoint for the zone being setup. In the AVR example, the AVR should be the volume endpoint.
