CEC Adapter - Using the LibCEC Standby Monitor

Modified on Mon, 8 Dec at 4:04 PM

The LibCEC Standby Monitor can be downloaded at: LibCEC Standby Monitor Download

Once installed it can be found at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Pulse-Eight\USB-CEC Adapter\Standby Monitor

The Standby Monitor Program is simple in how it is used.

When run you will get a small window that looks like image below:

Idle Timer

You can click the dropdown next to 'Idle Timeout' to set your PC to send an automatic CEC Standby command after a period of time. The options for that period are: 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours or 6 hours.

If the program is left open when the Idle Timeout is set and the PC remains idle you will see a green progress bar start filling to show how close the PC is to sending the CEC Standby Command

Power On/ Standby Buttons

Below the Idle Timeout and highlighted below are buttons to send a 'Power On' [highlighted Green] or 'Standby' [highlighted Red] command via CEC immediately.

These can be useful when testing the commands function as expected and if you need to generate the command outside of the timer.

Simply click the button and the command will send immediately

Connected Devices and States

Below this you will see a table showing the TV Vendor, Power Status of the TV, whether the TV is present and whether it is connected to the PC.

This section is fairly self explanatory and is useful to see the state of the TV if being controlled from a different room.
