ProAmp8 — Local WebUI Guide

Modified on Mon, 27 Apr at 8:04 PM

The ProAmp8 has a built-in web interface accessible from any browser on the same network. This guide covers both the standard user interface and the full administrator interface.

How to access the WebUI: Navigate to gotomymatrix.com in a browser on the same network. If multiple devices are found, select the ProAmp 8 from the list. You can also type the unit's IP address directly — for example: http://192.168.1.20

User Interface (No Login Required)

Routing Configuration

The home screen shows all inputs on the left and all outputs on the right. Input types are indicated by icons:

  • Analogue inputs (RCA connector icon) — Inputs 1–8 are stereo analogue audio inputs
  • Digital Audio — Input 9 is a digital audio input

All 8 outputs are shown on the right with a speaker/volume icon. Click the grid icon on any output to access routing options for that zone.

The All Zones Mute quick action in the sidebar mutes all output zones simultaneously.

System Status (User View)

Shows the unit's serial number, system health status, and cloud connection status without requiring a login.

Admin Interface

Click Admin Area in the sidebar and enter the admin password. The default password is in the product manual.

The admin sidebar provides: Configuration, Dolby Audio™, Device Health, Cloud Connection, Network Settings, Hardware Details. Quick Actions: User View, Change Password, Logout, Reboot Device.

Admin Section: Configuration

The admin Configuration view shows numbered inputs and outputs with a settings cog icon on each output for per-output configuration.

SettingDescription
Restore Volume On StartupWhen enabled, the ProAmp8 restores the last saved volume level on each zone when the unit powers on. Off by default. Enable this if you want volume levels to persist across power cycles without relying on the control system to set them on startup.

Admin Section: Dolby Audio™

The Dolby Audio™ section configures the ProAmp8's Dolby and PCM 5.1 processing capabilities. This section is only available on the ProAmp8 and is not present on other Pulse-Eight products.

Global Settings

SettingDescription
Dolby ModeEnables Dolby decoding. Default is Off. When enabled, the ProAmp8 decodes Dolby audio from a connected source and distributes it to the configured speaker channels.
PCM UpmixWhen enabled (default), upmixes stereo PCM audio to 5.1 for distribution across all speaker channels.
Volume RangeSets the minimum and maximum volume range for Dolby output. Default is Min -80.0dB to Max 0.0dB.
Bass / Treble / Volume slidersGlobal tone and volume controls applied to all Dolby output channels.
Clipping warning: Setting EQ values to their maximum (6dB) at the same time as volume at 100% can result in audio clipping. To avoid this, limit the volume range to 10dB or lower in the Volume Range setting.

Click Save Changes to apply global settings, or Reset EQs and Levels to return all global EQ and level values to 0dB.

Per-Channel EQ and Level Settings

Below the global settings, each speaker channel group has its own 5-band EQ, delay, and level controls. The channel groups are:

  • Front Left + Front Right
  • Rear Left + Rear Right
  • Center
  • Subwoofer

Each channel group shows a speaker placement diagram indicating which physical speakers the settings apply to. The SUB button on each group indicates whether this channel's bass is routed to the subwoofer.

Each channel group has individual sliders for:

ControlFrequency / Description
100HzSub-bass EQ band
330HzLow-mid EQ band
1KHzMid EQ band
3.3KHzUpper-mid EQ band
10KHzHigh-frequency EQ band
DelayPer-channel delay in milliseconds for speaker distance alignment
(L) Level (R)Left and right level trims for stereo channels (single Level for mono channels)

Each channel group has its own Save Changes button — changes are not applied until saved.

Admin Section: Network Settings

Configures how the amplifier connects to the network.

FieldDescription
Network ConnectivityCurrent network status — Healthy when connected.
ModeSwitch between DHCP (automatic IP assignment) and Static IP (manual IP assignment). For permanent installations, Static IP is recommended.
IP AddressThe current IP address assigned to the matrix. When in DHCP mode this is read-only. When Static IP is selected, enter the desired address here.
Subnet AddressThe subnet mask for the network — for example 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.240.0.
Gateway AddressThe IP address of the network router or gateway.
Primary / Secondary DNS ServerDNS server addresses. These are required for cloud connectivity and Alexa integration.

Click Save Settings after making any changes. If you change to a static IP, the matrix will immediately adopt the new address — you will need to reconnect using the new IP address.

Important: If setting a static IP, choose an address outside your DHCP server's automatic assignment range to prevent address conflicts with other devices.
